About
Vodafone GmbH is a Tier 1 operator in Germany, serving prepaid and postpaid customers in GSM, UMTS, LTE, IPTV and DSL/VDSL domains. They have a large subscriber base consisting of 32 million mobile and 3 million fixed line subscribers.
Our challenge
Integration of world first cloud-based IN (Intelligent network) and solution was deployed by Redknee in cooperation with VCE. VCEs vBlock solution was integrated with Redknee's Unified in record time, migrating over 17 million subscribers in a very short project timeframe. Some of the challenges during project phase:
- OSI Layer 3,4 and 5 integration with existing systems, including provisioning, back-office support and billing systems
- Redknee Unified deployment into VCEs cloud-based solution in OSI layer 7
- Replacement of existing legacy solutions for both live and test systems
Results
Customers were migrated over a 2 month period in several stages, the final stage being the migration of MVNE subscribers on 25 Feb 2015 when the last range of subscriber data was migrated to the new system. Customer satisfaction was high since this kind of project was never done before.

VIPnet d.d. is a Tier 1 operator from Croatia, serving 2 million customers, providing mobile and fixed services as the first private mobile operator in the country.
Innovations on the telecom market include Vip parking, and they were also the first to offer GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA i HSPA+, Vip Over IP, Vipme Broadband etc.
Our challenge
Adcon integration team was also part of VIPnet success story in which our provided support consisted from:
- Subscriber Data migration testing used to establish correct Subscriber Data field mapping from the legacy system
- Provisioning scenario verification, ensuring provisioning activities will continue to work seamlessly and smoothly on the upgraded system
- Call acceptance tests for network and service layers
- Post-migration result verification in order to verify correct billing and tariffs data migration
Main challenge was integration of Redknee Unified into the complex VIPnet eco-system including provisioning, data warehouse integration and billing.
Results
Hard work yielded positive results altogether with complete customer satisfaction.
System went live on 24th Jan 2015. providing VIPnet with the latest Redknee Unified rating, charging and billing solution, making them more competitive on the Croatian telecommunication market.

Truphone Limited is global mobile network and one of the leading pioneers in the mobile industry which provides its service internationally. They have developed state-of-the-art solution that enables voice and data performance in various countries around the globe and yet call will be treated locally rather than using roaming rates. Solution is based on a single all-in-one multi-IMSI SIM card which gives you up to 8 different numbers which will be shown to a caller depending of the country Truphone customer is roaming in.
Our challenge
Adcon integration team was also part of Truphone Ltd success story in which we provided support which consisted of:
- Complete network solution integration of three main components:
- Opencloud’s CCS (Call Control Server)
- Redknee’s OCS (Online Charging Server) and Redknee’s backup and restore, configuration, fault and management BSS systems
- Telesys Gateway for SS7 communication
- Aside from that, integration of Load Balancer (F5 IP-BIG) used in USSD CallBack scenario (SIP traffic) was deployed for the first time in a live network successfully.
- Site acceptance testing and end-to-end call scenarios testing
Results
Once more we have done proof of concept integration of Opencloud’s Rhino Telecom Application Server and Sentinel which provided the required charging front-end and session control capabilities for voice calls, SMS traffic, USSD management operations, and USSD Callback service together with Redknee Online charging server.
After few months of hard work Truphone Limited went live in beginning of 2013., acquired new customers and started spreading very fast to new markets so it can offer more for their value.
Currently Truphone Zone covers 66 countries and additionally it provides it's services in over 200 countries serving tens of millions subscribers. We are pleased to be part of their success story.

BH Telecom d.d. is a leading telecommunications company in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It was established in 1992, and was the first company in Bosnia and Herzegovina to provide GSM, 3G, IPTV, 4G and many other services.
Our challenge
As partner of Redknee, Adcon has been involved in upgrade project of BH Telecom prepaid solution with Redknee Unified solution in end-to-end terms, meaning:
- Providing consultancy and guidance for BH Telecom and Redknee in order to correctly specify BH Telecom's network and service requirements
- Development team with help from Verification team successfully managed to implement BH Telecom specific requirements and finally verify them.
- Integration team onsite with theirs hands-on experience managed to integrate Redknee's solution into a multi-vendor environment by providing:
- Infrastructure and network plan analysis and review (OSI Layer 1 and 2)
- Redknee system embedding into existing network architecture (OSI Layer 3 and 4)
- Site acceptance testing in terms of protocols and applications (OSI Layer 5 and 6)
- Integration with BH Telecom Business intelligence and provisioning systems
- Complete end-to-end testing of simple and complex mobile and fix call scenarios (OSI Layer 7)
- Consulting and execution of complete existing solution migration to new Unified online charging server
Results
All above actions went smoothly and finally on 21st of July BH Telecom was fully operational as the first operator in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the newest state-of-the-art Redknee online charging and rating solution.
Also to be mentioned, there was no major downtime from that period until today and Adcon support team is still providing Level 3 technical support.
